The Metratec UWB Beacon is the mobile component of an ultra-wideband localization system. With its IP65 water-proof housing it can be mounted on almost any object that needs to be tracked with high precision and speed.
Typical use cases for UWB RTLS systems are forklift tracking in a warehouse, and tracking of reusable containers such as containers and cages in the manufacturing process. Besides logistics applications, the technology can be used in robotics to support traditional vision or LIDAR-based positioning algorithms in environments where optical tracking is unreliable.
Thanks to the flexible firmware, you can choose between high update rates or long battery life, depending on your requirements. The UWB beacon is powered by three changeable AAA batteries, giving it a battery life of 3 – 5 years in typical usage scenarios.
