The Metratec RFID-HAT allows you to connect our UHF RFID modules directly to a Raspberry Pi single-board computer without the need for any additional components. Testing our UHF RFID was never easier and in some applications, this might even be your new reader in production.
The add-on board has space to mount any of the Metratec DwarfG2 UHF RFID modules (Mini, Standard, and XR) to give you the output power/read range your project needs from 50cm to up to 5m. The integrated 4x multiplexer allows you to connect four MMCX cables to build a small and cost-efficient “Smart Reader”.
The board has a 5-30V DC power supply that can power the RFID module as well as the embedded PC at the bottom from almost any source. The industrial inputs and outputs can be used to trigger the scan process and control external equipment like LEDs and even small motors.
Everything is rounded off by Metratec’s great variety of software integration kits for Python, Java, C#, and even ANSI-C. A getting-started guide will help you read your first UHF tags in minutes.
You can use the RFID-HAT with our DwarfG2-Mini, the DwarfG2, or the DwarfG2-XR UHF module. Just specify which version you need when ordering from us or our partners. Optionally, you can also use the product with our PLRM high-power module. In that case, the integrated multiplexer is not used.
