The DMI15 is an HF RFID reader designed specifically for the requirements of the Internet of Things. Based on the ISO 15693 standard, the reader is designed to be integrated and controlled in industrial or logistic environments without much effort. The DMI15 Reader features easy installation, as the reader only needs to be connected via Power over Ethernet (PoE). An external antenna is not necessary, as it is already built into the device.
The integrated antenna enables reading ranges of up to 80 mm. Due to the compact dimensions of only 120 x 90 x 50 mm and the low heat generation, the reader can be installed directly in machines or on conveyor belts. Communication with the host system is via Ethernet as standard. The DMI15 is controlled via an ASCII protocol or free software libraries for Java, .NET, or Python. In addition, the device is compatible with metraTec’s middleware IoT-Engine, which can also configure, evaluate and monitor a larger number of devices in parallel.
The DMI15 HF RFID reader has two optically isolated 24V DC inputs and four 24V outputs. To facilitate integration into machines, a 24V supply is available on 2 contacts on the IO Connector, which is generated from the PoE supply. So light barriers, signal columns and similar can be controlled directly if required. For integration into Windows-based IT systems, a free .NET DLL and a Java SDK are available for control, as well as demo software with a comprehensive range of functions to test all the capabilities of the device.
