With the DeskID NFC Metratec presents its first multi-protocol RFID reader/writer device. The slim housing looks good on every desktop and can read and write any 13.56 MHz RFID transponder. This includes ISO15693 tags (NFC Type 5) and all ISO14443-based transponders including all products from the NXP Mifare® series. This includes not only Mifare Classic and Ultralight® but also NTAG transponders as well as the very secure Mifare DESFire® tags.

The reader is connected to a host system (typically a PC) via USB-C. To read and write data to compatible RFID transponders you can use the free ReaderControl software or integrate the product into your system using any of our free SDKs or libraries. These are available on our GitHub page for Java, .NET, Python, and C, including example code for all languages.

Typical usage scenarios for the DeskID NFC are customer identification systems (eg. in gyms), configuration stations for RFID and NFC transponders as well as a valuable debugging tool for virtually any 13.56 MHz RFID system.
