Metratec presents its first multi-protocol RFID reader/writer, the DeskID NFC. The slim housing looks good on any desk and can read and write to any 13.56 MHz NFC RFID transponder. These include ISO15693 tags (NFC Type 5) and all ISO14443-based transponders, including all products in the NXP Mifare® series. This includes not only Mifare Classic and Ultralight®, but also NTAG transponders and the highly secure Mifare DESFire® tags.

The reader connects to a host system (typically a PC) via USB-C. To read and write data to compatible transponders, you can use the free ReaderControl software or integrate the product into your own system using one of our free SDKs or libraries. These are available for Java, .NET, Python, and C, including sample code for all languages.

Typical application scenarios for DeskID NFC include customer identification systems (e.g., in fitness studios), configuration stations for RFID and NFC transponders, and a valuable debugging tool for virtually any 13.56 MHz RFID implementation.
